FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What is a Service Load Limiter?

A. A Service Load Limiter limits the amount of power (Watts) that can be used in the home at any one point in time.

Q. How does a Service Load Limiter Work?

A. A Service Load Limiter works by sensing the amount of power being used in the home. If the amount of power exceeds (for example 2400 Watts or 20 Amps), the Service Load Limiter turns off all power to the home.

Q. How do I restore power once the Service Load Limiter has turned the power off?

A. To restore power to the home, you must FIRST turn off all appliances that use a large amount of power. Then you go outside to your meter to push the RESET button on the Service Load Limiter to restore power.

Q. How many appliances can I run at the same time?

A. If your limiter is set at 20 Amps, that would allow you 2400 Watts. The power will shut off if you exceed the 2400 Watts at one given time and the Service Load Limiter must be reset.
